Happy Fall Y'all!

This year has flown by!  I can't believe that fall is almost here.   Personally, I'm ready for some cooler weather.  I hate cold weather, so I'm sad to see summer go, but these 90+ degrees afternoons are getting to be unbearable.

Although fall is still a few weeks away, I want to go ahead and share my FREE Fall Packet.  It's always nice to have things in the classroom prepared ahead of time.

Getting Ready For Fall

It's a little surreal to be talking about Fall at the moment, but the season will arrive in two weeks.  Where did the year go?!?  Although I prefer warm weather, I am looking forward to Fall/Winter clothes...they are my favorite!

To help you get ready for Fall in your classroom, I am sharing a *free* Fall packet.

I

It includes graphic organizers and writing, fluency, ABC Order, poetry, and math activities!  Take a closer look and download here.

Part of September is usually dedicated to Johnny Appleseed as well.  I've created a Johnny Appleseed unit for Grades 1-2!  It includes lesson activities for all subjects, including some fun reading, science, and writing projects.  One of my favorite activities is this How To Make Apple Pie Craft and Writing Activity:

Also included are reading, graphing, writing, sequencing, social studies, and science activities.  To learn more and purchase, click here.

I hope your school year has gotten off to a GREAT start!  I'll be back next month with some fun Halloween-related activities.  Until then, Happy September!

Back To School Freebies!

Well, it's that time of year once again! Where did the summer go?!? It feels like May was just last week. Phew! I know many of you have already headed back to school, and those of you who haven't, will soon. For my post this month, I want to share a few back-to-school freebies that I hope will help your school year get off to a smooth beginning!

First up are these "welcome" signs. Hang them in your grade hallway or by your classroom door!

Involving parents in their child's education is always a super important component of classroom success. These K-2 informational handouts would be great to hand out at open house, include in your beginning of the year classroom packet, send home individually throughout the year, or discuss at parent conferences.

Finally, as we all know, enforcing classroom procedures and rules is essential at the beginning of the year. One area that is sometimes overlooked is the playground. I know I'm not the only one who always has a few kiddos who love to "go crazy" on the playground. On the first day of school I always have students read about our playground rules before going outside. Their first homework assignment is to read the rules to their parents.

I hope everyone has a fabulous school year!  I will be back on September 9th (my birthday!)! :-)

By the way, if you haven't checked out the AMAZING Educents bundle for 2nd & 3rd Grade teachers, make sure to do so!  For $30 you can receive products worth $201, including my President's Day Unit.  You can read more about it here, including how to save $5. The deal ends on Sunday, August 11.
