Mother's Day Project with Jars.

Good Morning EveRyOnE! Happy Thursday to you! Tomorrow is Friday already.  Wow.

I am so excited to be a contributor to Teaching Blog Roundup. I think it will be a fun place to visit.

My name is Lory and I am from Fun for First. I have been teaching 1st grade for 15 years. One thing that is so great about teaching is that every day is different! I am sure you would agree . . .

Here are a few other tidbits about me:

1. I love clipart.
2. I love digital borders.
3. My classroom theme next year is going to be ladybugs.
4. Our "baby" is in his 3rd year of college.
5. My husband is retired.
6. I love exploring new creative outlets. Right now, I am learning to refinish furniture in the Shabby Chic Way.
7. I have 3 other blogs:
Fun for First (teacher blog)
The Robin's Nest ( my personal craft etc blog)
Funtastic in First (my classroom blog)

Come on over and say Hi!

We are about to start making Mother's Day presents in class. Here is what we are doing . . .

The children are using the form below to write things they are thankful to their moms for.

I am going to use the paper cutter to cut around the borders before giving the children the Thank You strips.

I also have a little tag that has room for them to draw a little picture of their mom and a place to sign. I am going to attach that to the jar with the ribbon. For the example, all I had on hand was a thicker piece of ribbon but am actually going to buy some soft ribbon that is easy to tie. I think something like chiffon. Here are the tags.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
